Austin Butler has finally responded to growing speculation about a possible romance with Emily Ratajkowski after the two were photographed dining together in New York City. The 34-year-old actor told Vanity Fair that he is currently single and explained that he simply has many friends, describing his outing with Ratajkowski as nothing more than a friendly dinner.

Butler reflected on how the public's interest in his personal life once felt overwhelming, admitting that the scrutiny used to make him want to withdraw from the spotlight. Over time, however, he said his mindset has shifted, questioning why he should live a restricted life out of concern for how others might interpret his actions.

Austin Butler and Emily Ratajkowski Outings

In early September, Butler and Ratajkowski—who is also 34—were photographed appearing comfortable together while sharing food and drinks at the Waverly Inn in the West Village. A witness told Page Six that Austin Butler had placed an arm around her and seemed fully engaged in their conversation. The pair reportedly made no effort to stay out of sight, sitting in a central booth visible to other diners.

Although an eyewitness report described the two as relaxed and playful, a separate source told TMZ the pair did not display much physical affection during their two-hour conversation. The outing followed their first public link in August, when they were seen together at the afterparty for the New York City premiere of Butler's film 'Caught Stealing.'

Other Austin Butler Rumours

Rumours had also briefly connected Austin Butler to his 'Caught Stealing' co-star Zoë Kravitz, though later reports clarified that the two are simply friends. The actor's last confirmed relationship was with model Kaia Gerber, whom he dated for three years before their split in January.

Ratajkowski, who shares her 4-year-old son Sylvester with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, was most recently linked to musician Shaboozey in 2024.

As speculation continues, Austin Butler maintains that he is single and focused on living freely rather than allowing public perception to dictate his personal life.
