Disney reportedly felt that the character's arc was concluded by his death in 'The Rise of Skywalker,' and that bringing him back would compromise the trilogy's narrative completion.

Soderbergh expressed his disappointment, stating, "I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I'm just sorry the fans won't get to see it." With the sequel now officially off the table, Driver added, "it is no more, so I can finally talk about it."

Disney is bringing the magic of 'The Princess and the Frog' directly to fans across the U.S. with a brand-new travelling exhibition titled Tiana’s Joyful Celebration, set to launch in 2026. Revealed at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans, the new initiative is designed to bring Princess Tiana’s magical world to families who haven’t had the chance to visit major theme parks.

Kicking off in March 2026, the exhibition will open at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, made possible through a creative partnership between Disney and the museum team. The museum is actively involved in the design and planning of the immersive experience, as well as helping determine future stops on the national tour.

Jennifer Pace Robinson, CEO of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, revealed that the exhibit is built to be completely hands-on, inviting visitors to jump in and explore every part of it. Children will be able to participate in hands-on activities like gardening, gumbo-making, dancing, and music-making alongside Tiana and her beloved critter companions. The experience is crafted to feel like an authentic journey into Tiana’s New Orleans, complete with street lamps, Mardi Gras beads, and cultural celebrations.

Concept sketches show families joining in a Mardi Gras parade finale, where guests contribute their own “special spice” to a joyful community celebration filled with music, movement, and vibrant visuals.

Princess Tiana Embodies Great Values

As for why Princess Tiana continues to receive so much attention, Smith noted that her character embodies universally admired values like kindness, family, and community. She’s not only a groundbreaking African-American Disney princess but also a relatable figure for children of all backgrounds. Smith recalled seeing a young boy clutching his Tiana doll with deep affection — a moment that affirmed the character’s broad and heartfelt appeal.

While Disney recently announced that its planned animated Tiana series is no longer moving forward, Sivonne Davis, VP of Marketing Strategy for Walt Disney World, explained that the story is far from over. Instead of continuing on screen, Tiana’s next chapter is unfolding through real-world experiences like this exhibition — showing Disney’s ongoing commitment to telling meaningful, inclusive stories in new ways.

Renowned actress Ming-Na Wen walked the red carpet at the ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ premiere in May 2025, sharing emotional reflections on her legacy in Hollywood. While promoting her latest role as Dr. Fong in the sixth instalment of ‘The Karate Kid’ franchise, the celebrated actress took a moment to honour the film role that made her a household name — ‘Mulan’.

Now 61, Ming-Na Wen is best known as the voice behind Disney’s animated warrior princess, a role she originally took on in 1998 and reprised in ‘Mulan II’ (2004). She also made a special cameo in the 2020 live-action version of ‘Mulan’, a nod to her deep-rooted connection to the beloved character.

While attending the ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ premiere, Ming-Na Wen looked back on the lasting cultural impact of Mulan, expressing how the character has continued to inspire audiences nearly thirty years after first coming to life on screen.

Olivia Rodrigo ’s debut single ‘Driver’s License’, breaks the record previously held by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’, which debuted last year.

‘Drivers License’ saw 67.7 million on-demand audio streams in the United States from January 8th through January 14th, 2021.

A Big Win For The Ladies

Olivia Rodrigo's debut single holds the best first-week streams for a proper first single by a female artist.

‘Drivers License’ now holds the record for the most streams for a song in a single week on Spotify. It broke the record for daily streams. “These are numbers that we’ve never witnessed before,” said Kevin Weatherly, Head of North American Programming at Spotify. “This is definitely a lightning in a bottle moment.”

Rodrigo's ‘Drivers License’ debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well. 

Drivers License’ released on Geffen/Interscope Records and is the 1,116th No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100's 62-year history. It's the 48th single to debut on top, and the first of 2021. 

‘Drivers License’ drew 76.1 million U.S. streams and sold 38,000 downloads in the week ending January 14th, according to a data source. Yikes, those are some big numbers!

A Star In The Making

The singer-songwriter and actress initially rose to popularity with roles on Disney Channel, starring in Bizaardvark, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in 2019. Olivia Rodrigo ‘s background helped spark the popularity of ‘Drivers License’. The song has been under scrutiny about its lyrics, with a massive TikTok presence. Recently there was news about a co-sign from Taylor Swift. 

‘Driver’s License’ tells the tale of a young girl who finally gets her driver's license and drives around crying, reminiscing about a lost love. Olivia Rodrigo's lyrics explore her insecurities and the way she's still haunted by her former love.

Miley Cyrus just made headlines after celebrating being six months sober. The star recently sat down for an interview where she shined the light on a number of topics, from her vocal chord surgery to her family's history with addiction and of course, reaching a milestone of being six months sober.

Speaking of the former incident, Cyrus said, "It’s been really important for me over the last year living a sober lifestyle, because I really wanted to polish up my craft. I had really big vocal surgery in November. I had freaking four weeks where I wasn’t allowed to talk."

As one of the many Disney stars-turned-musicians, Miley has been bearing the weight of long, jam-packed schedules since the mere age of 12. And so, it's no surprise that her doctor informed her that this surgery was necessary due to her "over-use of the vocal chords."  

The artist then went into the slightly nasty details of her recovery process after the surgery, "I had freaking four weeks where I wasn't allowed to talk. I was so ripped writing on the whiteboard, yelling at everybody. I had this one big bicep from just yelling at mom and still trying to do meetings. But it prepared me for the stillness and the quietness."

Miley Cyrus Shines The Light on Her Family History

Cyrus then dived in a little deeper, bringing up her family history and how that's tied into her battles with addiction and mental health issues. 

"I’ve been sober sober for the past six months. At the beginning, it was just about this vocal surgery.… But I had been thinking a lot about my mother. My mom was adopted, and I inherited some of the feelings she had, the abandonment feelings and wanting to prove that you’re wanted and valuable," Cyrus said. 

"My dad’s parents divorced when he was three, so my dad raised himself. I did a lot of family history, which has a lot of addiction and mental health challenges. So just going through that and asking, 'Why am I the way that I am?' By understanding the past, we understand the present and the future much more clearly."

On a lighter note, the star emphasized that going-sober has brought about a lot of changes to her lifestyle. Particularly in helping her feel a lot more healthy. 

"It’s really hard because especially being young, there’s that stigma of 'You’re no fun.' It’s like, 'Honey, you can call me a lot of things, but I know that I’m fun. The thing that I love about it is waking up 100%, 100% of the time. I don’t want to wake up feeling groggy. I want to wake up feeling ready," Miley Cyrus said.

Blockbuster animated film, Frozen II, has scored yet another massive record. 

The Frozen II soundtrack The Unknown" continues to sit comfortably at No. 1 on the Billboard Soundtracks Chart, for the 27th consecutive week. The film and its music reigns supreme, establishing the 5th longest run on the chart since its origin in 2001. 

The Billboard Soundtracks Chart tracks music for film, providing a platform for OSTs (Original Sound Tracks) to be recognised and chart in the music world. Among some of the best performers on the chart are familiar names like Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's track for A Star Is Born, High School Musical, The Greatest Showman and of course, the first Frozen film's iconic soundtrack - "Let It Go".

Frozen II has overtaken the chart record of both the "A Star Is Born" soundtrack and the "High School Musical" soundtrack, which enjoyed a 26 week run on the chart.

The Walt Disney production has a way to go before beating out some of its bigger competitors like its own predecessor, "Frozen", which stood tall at No. 1 for 44 consecutive weeks. Other higher charting soundtracks include "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" which spent 34 weeks at No.1 , Greatest Showman", which logged in 32 weeks at the top and finally which clocked a total of 31 weeks at No. 1. 

Frozen II, starring Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff, was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song in a Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards, and for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards.
