The legacy of The Beatles continues to captivate fans around the world, and now Disney Plus is giving audiences an exciting reason to revisit the iconic band. A trailer for the fully restored and expanded version of 'The Beatles Anthology,' the ground-breaking documentary series that first followed the lives, music, and ascent of Ringo Starr, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney, has been released by the streaming service. 

With rare archival footage and candid interviews, the Anthology, which was first published in the mid-1990s, provided a close-up, behind-the-scenes look at the band's journey from Liverpool clubs to international superstardom. In addition to improving the original episodes' visual and audio clarity, the recently restored series also includes a brand-new ninth episode, which will give fans fresh insights into the Fab Four's creative process and personal reflections. The teaser promises both nostalgia for devoted fans and an engaging introduction for new viewers. 

The trailer teases unseen studio moments, heartfelt conversations, and the musical magic that made The Beatles a worldwide phenomenon.

'The Beatles Anthology,' an innovative eight-part documentary that allowed the band to narrate their own story in their own words, was first released in the middle of the 1990s. In contrast to conventional music films, it included in-depth, unfiltered, and intensely personal interviews with John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The series captured everything: Beatlemania, their first steps in America, their experimentation in India, and the emotional journey to their break-up. For many fans, it has now became the definitive account of The Beatles' journey.

Restoration, Expansion, and a New Episode

'The Beatles Anthology' is currently being re-released by Disney+ in collaboration with Apple Corps in a completely restored and remastered format. Peter Jackson's Wingnut Films and Park Road Post have been in charge of the project, and Giles Martin, the son of original producer George Martin, has been in charge of new audio mixes for a large portion of the music. The original eight episodes are back, but this time there's something extra: a brand-new ninth episode, featuring previously unseen footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr reflecting on their shared life and work during the 1994–1995 sessions. 

The original directors for Episode One to Eight were Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Mah Longfellow; while, the ninth episode has been directed by Oliver Murray.

The restored series will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting from 26th November, in a staggered rollout: Episodes 1–3 will be released on the first day, followed by episodes 4–6 on 27th November, and 7–9 on 28th November.

Fans can expect personal interviews, unique studio moments, and emotional opinions in this revised Anthology, as revealed in the recently released trailer. In order to give audiences a more complete picture of The Beatles, both on and off stage, footage of the band in their early years—hustling, creating, and dreaming—is interspersed with intensely personal interviews from subsequent years. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to their music, the Disney+ version promises to bring their story to life like never before.

The series now features better audio and better video quality as a result of the restoration. And with Giles Martin's new audio mixes, many of the songs featured in the series feel fresh yet respectful to their original spirit. In addition to the documentary series, the Anthology campaign features a 25th anniversary edition of 'The Beatles Anthology' book and extended music collections, including the Anthology Collection, which includes a fourth volume of rare recordings and sessions.

Paul McCartney is letting undiscovered artists use his childhood home as a place to write, perform, and get inspiration. Mike, the former Beatle's brother, is behind the Forthlin Sessions initiative, which will see musicians handpicked by Mike and local partners write music at the same location where Paul and John Lennon began their illustrious songwriting partnership. The pair wrote classics including 'I Saw Her Standing There (from 1963's 'Please Please Me') and 'When I'm 64' (from 1967's 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band') at 20, Forthlin Road in Liverpool. The National Trust presently owns the property.

Mike told Sky News: “This house to me, is a
house of hope. And I hope it will be for the young people that come through the
doors.

“I would be in the other room learning
photography, but whilst I’m doing all that I could hear guitar noises coming
from this room,” he said.

“In there were what turned out to be two of
the world’s greatest songwriters, McCartney and Lennon. They were rehearsing
from a school book on the floor, that’s why this house is so unique.”

Due to the better acoustics, Paul and Lennon would play the piano in the living room or rehearse in the bathroom.

“I think it’s a brilliant idea,” Mike
added. “Inviting young people to this house and giving them the opportunity of
doing the same as us, coming from nothing and seeing where it takes them.”

Paul McCartney, in other news, has requested Starbucks to cease charging extra for plant-based milk. The musician has been a vegetarian since 1975 and founded the Meat Free Mondays campaign in 2009 with his daughters, Mary and Stella. Throughout his career, he has also collaborated with PETA on several projects.

Among the string of stars that've all staked their claim on the spotlight with new album announcements, there stands one strong contender: the one, the only, Paul McCartney. 

The former Beatles member recently announced that he will release a third album, serving as the long-awaited sequel to McCartney's self-titled 1970 solo debut, "Maybe I'm Amazed".  While the artist had no intention of dropping a new project this year, during time spent in lockdown, he dug out some old musical sketches and ultimately decided to craft them into new pieces of music. 

'McCartney III': The Formation

Speaking of the new gems he churned out during quarantine, McCartney commented, "I was living lockdown life on my farm with my family and I would go to my studio every day, I had to do a little bit of work on some film music and that turned into the opening track and then when it was done I thought what will I do next?"

"I had some stuff I’d worked on over the years. But sometimes time would run out and it would be left half-finished so I started thinking about what I had. Each day I’d start recording with the instrument I wrote the song on and then gradually layer it all up, it was a lot of fun.  It was about making music for yourself rather than making music that has to do a job. So, I just did stuff I fancied doing. I had no idea this would end up as an album.”

In a strange turn of events, this lockdown period has in fact proved to be quite productive for a number of artists. We've been gifted anthems of self-love, quarantine-themed tracks and so much more. So, it's worth noting that the music world has adapted quite well to the new norm. 

McCartney also took to social media to put out a few brief teasers on his upcoming album. They all feature shots of Paul strumming a groovy tune on his guitar, dabbling with a bit of production, drums, piano and vocals. The words that blast on screen give us a little more context as they read, 'Written by...Performed by...Produced by...McCartney'

"McCartney III" will make its landing on December 11th and like Capitol Records rightly commented, the king is indeed back.

The Beatles have made a significant mark on the music industry, yup everyone knows it. From songs like, 'Hey Jude' to 'Come Together', they've moulded an entire genre of music. And boy oh boy, legends always have quite the history and one that definitely deserves to be tracked. So, that's why, this fabulous troupe of musicians have arrived with the perfect treat!

The Beatles have made their mark in the music industry multiple times and today is no exception!
On this day in 1969, their album 'Abbey Road' was at the No. 1 spot on the US charts and was adamant on staying there for 11 weeks. The album reached greater heights, by winning over the hearts of all those die-hard Beatles fans out there!

'Abbey Road' was also the last album the Beatles recorded together, before their split. The album is also famously known for its cover, that many bands and ardent fans still continue to recreate. It all happened on one bright morning in 1969 when a  section of London's Abbey Road was occupied for the brief photo shoot. For the four Beatles, the shoot finished too quickly. Despite the simple idea of just crossing the street, two or three hours were scheduled for the photo shoot and yet they finished in just about ten minutes.

This album is often hailed as a true masterpiece and perhaps it's because the band was way ahead of their time in terms of sound and their musical vision. And of course, the album housed gems like , ‘Here Comes the Sun,’  'Come Together' and ‘Something’.

THE BEATLES ON THE BILLBOARD 200.
On Feb. 1, 1964, the group entered the chart with its first U.S. album for Capitol Records, "Meet the Beatles!" It bowed at No. 92 and sailed to No. 1 in just two weeks, rising to No. 3 in its second week, then to No. 1 in its third frame.

They have a Guinness World Record for the best selling group. They still hold that record for having sold more than 1 billion units around the world.

The Beatles have a gazillion songs in their collection but ‘Yesterday’ was the most listened to track of them all.That’s because the track, which was penned by Lennon and McCartney, has been covered more than 1,600 times. All manner of performers have produced their own version of the song, including icons like Frank Sinatra and Boyz II Men. As a result, the song now has a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Throughout their run, 14 of their albums went in at number 1 in the US, an incredible achievement for any artist.

Most number 1 hit Singles, with 20 of them going to number one between the ‘60s and ‘70s. Among these are Love Me Do, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Can’t Buy Me Love, and A Hard Day’s Night. The group faces stiff competition from artists like Mariah Carey and Rihanna, but as it stands, they still hold the world record.

Along with the band, this is an entire era that will never be forgotten, from it's wonderful music to visionary imagery.
